UX/UI of Talent Hub for Abu Dhabi School of Government

Talent Hub is an all-inclusive platform designed to cater to the needs of individuals who are seeking to enhance their professional growth and excel in their respective careers. By providing a comprehensive array of resources and services, Talent Hub aims to assist users in developing the skills necessary to thrive in their chosen fields.

The primary objective for the front-end was to develop a visually appealing and user-friendly design that would attract a broader range of users. Simultaneously, our goal for the backend was to design a futuristic style that effectively presents comprehensive talent pool statistics, enabling top-level executives to make informed decisions based on data-driven insights.

In my role, I was entrusted with the task of overseeing the holistic user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) aspects for all the concepts and designs created for the platform. This involved working closely with a team of designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that the platform's interface and functionality aligned with the goals and expectations of the target users.

The platform comprises two primary divisions:
1. User perspective
2. High-level executives' perspective

I was employed by American Eagle agency to work on this project.

1. User Perspective

The platform allows users to establish their profile through onboarding process and offers a range of resources and services to assist them in enhancing their career prospects, acquiring new skills, and ultimately securing their desired job.

Talent onboarding process

The onboarding process we developed for users was designed to be straightforward and user-friendly. We collected essential information from users, including their contact details, hobbies, preferred learning methods, a video introduction, and their goals. Using this information, we generated a comprehensive user profile.

Additionally, we automated data retrieval from various ministries, such as job data from the labor department and personal details from the Emirates ID. If there were any gaps in the user's job durations, the system would prompt them to fill in the missing information if possible.

A quick overview of data validation for users.

The user profile displays data in three distinct styles for easy validation.

Data accompanied by a green tick indicates that it originates from MOHRE and has been validated since it is not editable by the user. Career gaps are highlighted in red to draw the user's attention in case they wish to provide the missing information. Lastly, data displayed in grey represents information entered by the user themselves.

Interactive dialogues for multiple inputs

To enhance user interaction and gather specific information for different sections of the profile, a variety of popups were implemented. These popups were thoughtfully designed to prompt the user for input and collect data in a streamlined manner. Each popup was tailored to address a specific area or category within the profile, ensuring that users could provide accurate and relevant information.

Main page / Stream of updates

The homepage offers a comprehensive view, showcasing updates and activities not only for the individual user but also for the connections they have made on the platform. It is divided into three distinct sections, namely:

1. Month in Review: This section provides a summary of the events, achievements, and noteworthy moments that occurred during the previous month. It offers a quick glance at the user's personal progress and highlights any significant milestones or accomplishments.

2. Things to Do Today: In this section, users are presented with a list of tasks, goals, or activities that are scheduled for the current day. It serves as a personalized agenda, helping users stay organized and focused on their priorities and commitments.

3. Month in Preview: The month in preview section offers a forward-looking perspective, outlining upcoming events, deadlines, or plans for the future. Users can anticipate what lies ahead and prepare accordingly, ensuring they are well-informed about future opportunities or engagements.

Design System

The purpose of creating a design system is twofold: to maintain consistency across design elements and to provide team members working on the project from different countries with the ability to utilize the same components without concerns about maintaining consistency.

2. High-level executives' perspective

Top-level executives have the ability to access a talent pool and form teams to assign to specific projects. They can then track progress at various levels, including the team level and individual team member level. Additionally, executives can view important statistics that aid in succession planning, allowing them to identify potential candidates. This platform serves as a valuable tool for executives to assess potential and make informed decisions.

Scenario 01

The DG wants to visualize the talent pool data

The DG accesses the system to assemble a team of IT professionals in the age range of 20-30 years for the purpose of achieving the digitalization of ADSG. Subsequently, the system presents the talent pool, including comprehensive statistics and data visualization, to facilitate the selection of suitable team members for the task.

Scenario 02

The DG wants to evaluate team performance

The DG is provided with an overview of the performance of the ministry under his leadership, as well as individual performance trackers for the ministries operating under it. By clicking on a specific ministry, the DG can view all the teams working within it. Clicking on a team will display the performance of that specific team, along with an organizational chart.
